Irish Singer Erica Cody and Denys Samson make DWTS history

The six remaining couples took to the dance floor for the first time tonight on RTÉ One’s Dancing with the Stars

Aengus Mac Grianna, Matthew MacNabb, Jordan Conroy, Erica Cody, Billy McGuinness and Ellen Keane all made their dancing debuts last night on RTE ONE.

Presenters Jennifer Zamparelli and Nicky Byrne were joined in studio by judges Loraine Barry, Brian Redmond and Arthur Gourounlian.

The entertainment began as three professional couples took to the floor to Coldplay’s My Universe.  This sensational showpiece featured the some of the new pro dancers who have joined the show for series five.

The first couple to dance tonight were Aengus Mac Grianna and Emily Barker. Viewers saw a whole new side to the former RTÉ News journalist and newscaster as he danced a cheeky charleston with his partner Emily, as she returns for her fifth series. 

Singer/ songwriter Erica-Cody and Pro dancing partner Denys Samson made DWTS history been the very first couple to receive the highest score ever for a couple’s first routine. Erica took to her Instagram to thank the public for all the support shown to her.

Dancing with the Stars will return to our screens next Sunday at 6.30pm on RTE ONE.
