This Saturday 1st September, the Swansea Bay Surfari bus will arrive in the capital, on the third stage of their four week Surfari Bus tour of Wales and Ireland.
On Saturday the Surfari Bus can be found at Blanchardstown Shopping Centre from 10am – 4pm. The Bus is brimming with holiday ideas, competitions and offers to encourage visitors to enjoy Swansea Bay, Mumbles and Gower’s city, coast and countryside.
The Surfari Bus team are on a mission to introduce new people to Swansea Bay’s beaches, activities and attractions during Wales’ ‘Year of the Sea’. The star of the show is a colourful, fully branded Visit Swansea Bay vintage VW campervan. The team inside are ready to share some of Swansea Bays best kept secrets and holiday hotspots like Rhossili Bay, which is regularly awarded ‘best beach’ status.
Councillor Robert Francis-Davies, Swansea’s cabinet member for investment, regeneration and tourism, said: “Swansea Bay, Mumbles and Gower is already a popular short break and holiday destination for visitors across the UK and internationally, but people in Ireland may not have considered a Swansea Bay short break. So the Surfari Bus will be travelling through Ireland with ideas and information to encourage Irish holidaymakers to come and visit.
“That’s why we wanted to stop in the Irish capital along our route. Swansea Bay, Mumbles and Gower can offer city breaks, walking holidays, family fun or adventure activities – all in one great destination and only a short journey away. And what better time to visit than the ‘Year of the Sea’, when our waterfront city and beautiful beaches really come into their own. We’re working with local tourism businesses, so come along to the Surfari Bus on Saturday (1st) for a great range of offers and to enter our fun competitions – you could win a short break overlooking one of our award winning beaches!”
The Surfari Bus made its short trip over the Irish Sea after a tour of Wales, and will be encouraging people to #SeaSwanseaBay at shopping centres in Dublin and Kilkenny before making the journey back with some wonderful memories of a month long road trip.
