Stars step out in style for LauraLynn Heroes Ball

Hundreds joined Ireland’s only Children’s Hospice, LauraLynn for a dazzling night of fundraising, support and entertainment all in aid of the charity.  

Amongst the guests where Miriam O’Callaghan, Alan Shortt, Paul Howard & his wife Mary McCarthy, Lisa and Niall Woods, Devin Toner and Paul Merriman.  

The LauraLynn Heroes Ball took place on Saturday March 4th at The Round Room in the Mansion House, Dublin 2. Now in its 6th year the night has become known as the most exciting Charity Ball in the calendar. On the night thrilled guests enjoyed a gala dinner, fantastic entertainment and amazing auction prizes. 

Speaking on the night of the LauraLynn Heroes Ball, Miriam O’Callaghan said; “I am privileged to be back tonight at the amazing LauraLynn Heroes ball as MC for the night.  It is a highlight each year and is always an incredible evening all in aid of the hundreds of children with life-limiting conditions and their families who LauraLynn provide care and support for nationwide each year.” 

LauraLynn Patron Miriam O’Callaghan took to the stage as MC for the night while the comical Alan Shortt kept the crowds entertained whilst overseeing the Charity Auction activities.  

Alan Shortt added; “I was delighted to host the auction at the LauraLynn Heroes Ball this year. We had some amazing auction prizes up for grabs including bespoke artwork, holidays and training sessions for sport lovers. It was a night not to be missed and most importantly we raised lots of funds for the amazing LauraLynn”  

LauraLynn care is provided free of charge for children and families. LauraLynn receives some core statutory state funding but relies primarily on fundraised income to fund its hospice services. The Heroes Ball is a key date in the fundraising calendar for LauraLynn. 

Kerry McLaverty, LauraLynn CEO said “We are absolutely delighted with the success of tonight’s LauraLynn Heroes Ball. To have so many come together and support the work that LauraLynn do is such an honour. We are so grateful to everyone that made tonight a success. Since opening in 2011, LauraLynn has cared for over 640 children and their families, with more than 480 children and families availing of care & supports in 2022. LauraLynn provides holistic care to each child which enables them to make the most of every day. This care also extends to the family of each child who are often dealing with difficult emotional, physical and financial pressures.
