Grill & Chill 2 Festival on Saturday in Mountjoy Square

Tiglin is hosting a ‘Grill & Chill’ Festival tomorrow Saturday July 6 in Mountjoy Square, writes Rose Barrett.

The charity, which runs The Lighthouse Café and homeless supports along with rehabilitation services for persons with addictions, is staging a free festival from 12 noon to 3pm on Saturday next.

Do come along and enjoy food, drinks, music, ice cream and much more – ideal for all the family. Blues performer Don Baker will provide some music with entertainment from comedian ‘Black Paddy’. And to top it all, there will also be a barber on site, you why not get a haircut!

Dublin’s recently elected Lord Mayor James Geoghegan will be a guest of honour on the day, along with several of the charity’s ambassadors.

Free and open to all – Grill & Chill 2 at Mounjoy Square on Saturday next, July 6 from noon to 3pm.

Congratulations also to Aubrey McCarthy, Chair and founder of Tiglin who was recently awarded honorary Lifetime membership of the Royal Dublin Society (RDS). This honour is presented to individuals who contribute significantly to public life and the betterment of society, or philanthropic endeavours.  JP McManus was also honoured on the day for his support of charities, scholarships and equestrian sport. Previous winners include Samuel Beckett, Rachael Blackmore, Christina Noble, Brian Friel, Normal Smurfitt, etc.
