Primary school children can look forward to joining in with Culture Night this Friday, writes Rachel Cunningham.

The Arts Council and Laureate na nÓg, Áine Ní Ghlinn, in partnership with Children’s Books Ireland, are providing a very special online draw-along event, which will be presented in Irish and English language, with subtitles provided.

Part of Culture Night, which will take place tomorrow, Áine will be reading from her story Boscadán and will be joined by illustrator Tarsila Krüse, who will draw while children can listen to the story and design their own robot.

Boscadán is an Irish language novel for children about Aoife who builds a cardboard robot. When the robot takes on a life of its own, that’s when the real fun starts. The video can be used in the classroom on Culture Night and at home, and will be available for 72 hours from Friday morning.
