Award-winning stand-up comedian, Seán Begley brings his debut solo show ‘Tragic’, to Draíocht, Blanchardstown on Thursday Nov 18.

Having won Best New Act at the 2018 Bray Comedy Festival, and after being shortlisted for the RTE/ Ray D’Arcy Stand Up and Be Funny competition in 2019, Seán has emerged from lockdown with his ever-unique brand of comedy and takes on things like friendship, marriage and parenthood.

Expect him to share many anecdotes from his life while touching on mental health issues and nostalgically reflecting on the formative years spent with his oldest and closest friend in light of his unexpected passing back in 2014.

Speaking about the return of live comedy after Covid-19 restrictions, Seán revealed: “Performing for a live audience is a very unique and rewarding experience. Where else would you get people to listen to you for 20 or 30 minutes at a time without being interrupted?”

“I’m a teacher and have four kids. Normally, I can’t get a word in edgeways.”

“The show has already sold out at both Bray Comedy Festival and Dlr Mill Theatre, Dundrum and I’m now looking forward to sharing my blend of one liners and personal experiences with the Dublin 15 community”

Today FM’s Dave Moore describes Seán as “A great man for a joke”. Garden Gigs Ireland refer to him as “A great up and coming Irish comic and a seriously prolific joke writer” and The Hardy Har Comedy Club regard him as “Funny, authentic and not afraid to take his craft into uncharted territory.”

Supporting Seán on the night is Blanchardstown local, the enigmatic Graham Morrissey. Tickets for the show at Draíocht Theatre on Thursday November 18th are on sale now at
