As covid took over and prevented us from going about our usual work and day to day life, local photographer David Branigan focused on a personal project, influenced by his love of the ocean.

The free exhibition was opened at dlr Lexicon by Dlr Leas Cathaoirleach Cllr Michael Clark and is currently on display.

The theme through-out is how we use our connections with the sea to find our resilience, especially in times of crisis. It was intended that the work would be photographed around Ireland, but the regional lockdowns prevented that. The result is that most of the images were taken in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown and are both land-based and afloat.

Thanks town Arts council grant, David produced an A3 sized book of his workA3 in hardback which features 21 images in black and white. These beautiful images have also been made into this breathtaking exhibition.
