Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services is calling on friends, families and workplaces to host a coffee morning as part of Bewley’s Big Coffee Morning for Hospice.

Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services, Ireland’s largest provider of palliative care, and serves a catchment area of a million people from its bases in Harold’s Cross (1879), Blackrock (2003) and Wicklow (2020).

While the annual Coffee Morning will this year be officially marked on Thursday, 21st September, those who are interested in hosting a coffee morning or donating to the appeal, are invited to do so at a time that suits them in September or October.

The funds raised will go directly to participant’s hospice location of choice and ensure the continuation and development of vital palliative care services throughout catchment area served by the Harold’s Cross and Blackrock sites of OLH&CS.

Ann Julian, Campaign & Events Coordinator, Our Lady’s Hospice said: “Now in its 31st year, the annual coffee morning is a special day across our three sites in Dublin and Wicklow. It is an opportunity for supporters to gather friends, families and colleagues to gather over a hot beverage and at the same time, raise vital funds which we are continuously grateful for.

“We will also be hosting our own coffee mornings on the day in Blackrock and Harold’s Cross and look forward to welcoming familiar and new faces, as well as some special guests including friend of Our Lady Hospice & Care Services Blackrock, Maia Dunphy.

“Even if you are not able to host or attend a coffee morning on the day, you can still do so throughout the months of September and October or donate online”, she added.

Maia Dunphy, friend of Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services Blackrock said: “Bewley’s Coffee Morning for Hospice is always a special and enjoyable morning. It’s an opportunity for staff and volunteers to gather with supporters and friends of the Hospice, all the while raising funds and remembering loved ones. I’m really looking forward to attending and encourage everyone to check out if a coffee morning is taking place near them to support or there’s still time to host your own coffee morning!”
