Brown Thomas Arnotts has announced the return of its exciting initiative, Pitch’22 at Arnotts and are calling on new and promising local Irish start-ups and entrepreneurs, to pitch for an opportunity to retail in Ireland’s iconic department store and online with the chance of winning a €10,000 business development fund, writes Amy Rohu.

Pitch 22 is an Arnotts initiative which supports and champions new and promising local Irish brands. The competition is an open-invitation to Irish start-ups, small businesses, designers, makers and entrepreneurs based anywhere in Ireland who operate within the areas of fashion, beauty, jewellery, lifestyle or technology, who already have a product or range developed or an identified service proposition, to grow their brand further and to receive specialised mentoring and expertise in the world of retail. Last year, there were hundreds of entries from all over Ireland.

Applications will be reviewed and shortlisted to five finalists by an expert judging panel including Brown Thomas Arnotts Director of Enterprise Audrey Owens, Brown Thomas Arnotts Buying Director for Home & Living Rachel Morgans and Brown Thomas Arnotts Head of Sustainability Diana Geraghty. They will be joined by last year’s winners, founders of Pure Clothing, Peter Timlin and Richard Grimes.

The five finalists will be taken through a series of mentoring and development workshops by the judging panel and will have the unique opportunity to retail both in store and online in the Arnotts Christmas Market, one the busiest trading periods of the year in retail. Following this, there will be one ultimate winner who will secure the €10,000 business development fund, to be revealed in January 2023.

Entries must be submitted by 29th April 2022 and businesses must be based in Ireland. For further information on how to apply for Pitch’22 and eligibility criteria, visit
