A MAN has been arrested following a stand-off with gardai at a North Great George’s Street flat this week. The arrest was made shortly after gardai received reports of a burglary in progress at the premises.
When gardai arrived on May 6 at about 11pm, a 29-year-old man was seen armed with a knife. A brief stand-off followed but the man was finally disarmed and arrested at the scene.
No one was injured during the incident and the flat owners were not in.
The man was taken to Store Street Garda Station and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
At the time of going to print the man remained in custody and the investigation is ongoing.
