Spring/summer’s biggest trends will be brought to life at Blanchardstown Centre this weekend with their U-Style event that sees fashionista’s dreams become a reality.

Imagine catwalk shows, make-up workshops, hair demonstrations, advice from personal stylists, a realm of all things style and beauty at your fingertips – well this is exactly what people can expect to see at the Blanchardstown Centre for two days, April 27 and 28.

Blanchardstown Centre and U-magazine have joined forces to educate Dublin about all things fashion and beauty.

Speaking to The Gazette, marketing executive with the Blanchardstown Centre, Ciara Daly, said the event is bigger and better than ever before.

“It’s been fantastic, and because it’s been so successful we’ve made it even bigger and better. It is going to be a fantastic shopping weekend for everyone that comes along, not only for fashionista’s but there will be discounts across a wide range of stores including some of our beauty brands as well.

According to Ciara, this event is a great way for people to get to know what to wear.

“Top industry experts will give the best advice on all the different trends that are out there at the moment. The key trends that we will showcase in each show are floral, monochrome, stripe, denim and accessories, holiday and swimwear and bright and bold is our final trend.

“We will have four shows on the hour, starting at 1pm with the last at 4pm, and they will showcase each of these trends from a range of different stores around the shopping centre. All items the models will be wearing will be available to purchase on the day and the majority of stores will have discounts too, so it will be a great weekend to get all the key looks to brighten up your wardrobe for summer.”

The team from U magazine will be there each day and after each fashion show there will be a master class. Shirley Lane, the Blanchardstown Centre’s personal stylist, is up first each day. “She is excellent. She knows the centre inside out and she will show her style picks for spring summer.

“There are also master classes for make-up from Inglot and for hair from Peter Mark. “They will show you how to do these looks at home.”

On Saturday, April 27, Jules Fallon from 1st Option will give a master class on Sweet Jeans, a sneak preview of another event the centre has coming up in May (Thursday-Sunday May 2-5 and May 9 -12).

“Jules will be on site taking private consultations for two weeks only. She will be choosing denim and jeans from a number of different retailers in the shopping centre and giving you the best style advice and again there will be discounts over those weekends too.

“It is all free and you book your appointment at the information desk and you have a private, half-hour consultation in a style lounge with Jules Fallon. This shows what jeans fit what shape, and to get people trying something new – like trying skinnies for the first time, flares, or boot-cut jeans.

“We are taking appointments now, so either call the information desk or pop up to them – you can even send us a message on Facebook,” Ciara added.

At the U-Style event on Sunday, April 28, Annmarie O’Connor will also be showing occasion-wear from BT2. “This will really inform people about the amazing range BT2 have to offer – great for occasions like weddings and parties.”

In addition to all of this, there will be beauty pods all over the centre, with all the top beauty brands offering mini-makeovers and they will give advice on skincare, makeup techniques etc.

“We really want people to be able to take things home with them. This will show the range of amazing brands we have at the Blanchardstown Centre,” she continued.
