On the 4th of December Gaelforce Dublin launched its third year hosting an action packed adventure race within South Dublin.

This event showcases some amazing landscapes right on our door step – where urban meets rural.

Gaelforce Dublin has established itself as the kick-off adventure race for the 2019 season, which is showcased by the fact that it was awarded the Best Sporting Event Award from the Event Industry Awards in 2018.

Hard to believe that such amazing adventures like this can take place in a city, but this is no urban myth!

Nikki Darling, who took on the challenge in 2018 summed it up nicely: “What an event! Very tough and very rough, but the encouragement and support and fun along the way was tremendous!”

Gaelforce Dublin is the first race in the newly launched Gaelforce Adventure Racing Series Pass, which grants you entry to four unique Adventure Races all over Ireland.

Besides Gaelforce Dublin, this pass will include entries to Gaelforce West, Gaelforce Connemara and Gaelforce North.

In 2019 Gaelforce Events are saying goodbye to plastic bottles and are estimated that this action alone will save 6000 single use plastic bottles.

They are encouraging people to bring their own refillable water bottles and will provide water stations to fill up bottles. Killary Gaelforce is determined to make their events more environmentally friendly and sustainable.

Killary Gaelforce have recently partnered up with Jigsaw for their 2019 events. Jigsaw is an amazing charity supporting young people’s mental health services. The charity operates a service in Tallaght and Gaelforce are delighted to support jigsaw in promoting the charity and raising vital funds.

Trail running on Kippure Mountain, cycling the highways and byways and a kayak on Bohernabreena reservoir with some of Ireland’s most dramatic backdrops en route.
There are 2 distances to choose from – 29km or 49km, making this a perfect race for first timers as well as seasoned adventure racers.

If you are craving adventure then this is the event for you, so bring your bike and let’s go!
