FORMER Blackrock star Hugo Keenan has been backed into even money favourite from 6/4 with BoyleSports to be crowned Six Nations Player of the Tournament.

Three Irish stars who were pivotal in their fourth ever Grand Slam have been nominated for the award, along with three players from the France team who took the tournament down to the wire before Ireland dethroned the reigning champions with victory over England in Dublin.

Full-back Kennan is rated the most likely recipient of the Player of the Tournament award, with a public vote to determine the winner open until Wednesday evening.

Back-row forward Caelan Doris (2/1) and winger Mack Hansen (3/1) are also in the running, while last year’s winner Antoine Dupont is deemed the only French candidate in with a lively chance of upsetting the Irish trio at 7/2.

Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports said: “We’ll all be screaming injustice if the Player of the Tournament award doesn’t go to a man in green and Hugo Kennan’s try against France was one of the standout moments of the whole championship, so he’s the one being singled out.”
