Lucan United 2
North End United 1

Two of Lucan United’s impressive young guns fired them to famous victory on Saturday.

The Dublin club’s marvelous central midfield duo were central to them progressing to the semi-finals of the Leinster Junior Cup for the first time in their history.
Emerging talents Leo Myers and Ollie Kendrick both found the net to continue their personal rich vein of form and to prolong Lucan’s run in the prestigious competition.
Kendrick’s strike on the half-hour was the 19-year-old’s tenth of the season while 20-year-old Kendrick’s 10 minutes later saw him move to within three of the 20-goal mark.
The win was made all the more impressive by the fact it came against Wexford giants North End United. The Sky Blues came to Airlie Heights not only as favourites to win the game but favourites to win the tournament.
However, what is effectively Lucan’s second string proved more than a match for the side that won the tournament back-to-back earlier this decade.

They move into the final four for the first time in their history and remain the only Leinster Senior League side left in the competition.
Wexford Bohs also moved to within one win of a final, when they defeated Kilcock on Sunday.
Clonmullion FC play ROC Celtic and New Oak FC take on Parkvilla for the remaining two spots.
The last Dublin side to win the competition were Sherrif YC in 2019, Collinstown in 2016 were the last LSL winners and you’d have to go back a lot further to find a Dublin Saturday that lifted the trophy.
