Social Hurling blitz ready for lift-off at Naomh Olaf

Minister for Sport Jack Chambers and Dun Laoghaire mayor Lettie McCarthy will be on hand to ‘throw in’ when the first annual Social Hurling Blitz kicks off at Naomh Olaf in Sandyford this Easter Saturday as part of the GAA’s Dads and Lads initiative . 

Twenty hurling teams from Carlow, Down, Kildare and Dublin will take part in the event with team registration from 10.30am and throw-in for the first game will take place at 12.30pm.

Each team will get 12 team coloured tops designed by themselves; 12 sliotars from Murphys; 12 Trays of fruit from Get Fresh Superfoods; 12 bottles of Water from SuperValu Ballally, 12 bars of protein from SuperValu Ballally while the winners will receive 12 sports bags from Precision Sports, 2nd & 3rd place will get €50 vouchers from McSport or McKeever sports, Blitz All Star €400 voucher from Renaissance Academy.

The social part starts from around 2pm as the teams are knocked out and will finish late on Saturday  after a fine day’s hurling comprising 27 games of 15-20 minutes each.
