Leinster Women got their Vodafone Interprovincial Series campaign back on track with a nine-try victory over northern rivals Ulster at a sun-drenched Energia Park last Saturday.

Having succumbed to a last-minute defeat away to Connacht in round one, only a win would do for Tania Rosser’s charges and they obliged in comprehensive fashion to put themselves back in contention to reach the series final on September 2.

The home side’s intent was clear from the outset as Christy Haney powered over for the first of her brace in just the fourth minute and, as hosts continued to make hay in the sun, the bonus point was secured by the half-hour mark with a 33-0 halftime score.

Whilst Ulster were slightly more competitive in the second half, there was still time for Leinster to register a further four tries with Haney’s Blackrock College team-mate Aoife Wafer crashing over in added time to complete the scoring.

Next up for Leinster is the visit of Munster to Energia Park in round 3 this coming Saturday (KO 4:45pm) with a place in the final on the line for the girls in blue.
