Foxrock-Cabinteely manager Pat Ring was proud of his charges, despite losing Saturday’s All-Ireland decider at Parnell Park.

“To be fair to our team, we know we are a very good team,” he told the Dublin Gazette.

“We just didn’t do ourselves justice out there tonight. You don’t win four Dublin Championships in-a-row and four Leinster’s, without being a good team.

“We are up there with the best of them. Tonight we didn’t perform.

“I’ve been saying it all week that whoever performs will win, and Mourneabbey performed and we were below par and you can’t do that at this level.

“I want to pay compliment to the girls, they gave everything all year. They gave us everything that we asked of them to do.”

Ring says that there’s no doubt that Mourneabbey were deserving winners.

“Our players are very philosophical about it themselves, they know they were beaten by a better team. We were beaten by a far better team and there’s no arguments whatsoever.”
