The team is drawn from Three Rock Rovers HC, Wicklow HC, Monkstown HC, Railway HC and Botanic Hockey HC. Cameron Ward and Sofia Finnegan are the Botanic players who will get their first caps for Ireland.
Ireland will face stiff competition in Amsterdam which will have teams from Belgium, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands and Portugal.
It is likely Ireland will be facing England and the Czech Republic in their pool.

“We are thrilled to see Cameron and Sofia picked to play for Ireland. This has given a fantastic lift to the whole club and we know that Sofia and Cameron will do us proud in Amsterdam,” said Philo Gallagher and Anne Murphy, Co Club Captain at Botanic Hockey Club. The club is based in St Mary’s Holy Faith Convent Glasnevin.
The Euro Hockey ID championship also coincides with the Women’s World Cup in Amsterdam.
