Two Dublin teens will lead Ireland into European battle later this month.
A 23-strong Irish team made of recent National Senior Cadet Champions will compete in the European Junior Championships later this month – and the IABA have confirmed two capital talents will play captain roles in Italy.
Ava Henry and Charlie Valbergs have earned the honour and will lead the team in a tournament that gloves off on September 25.
Dublin Dockland’s Henry already has positive European experience, the latest lightweight prospect and four-time Irish champion won European Schools silver in Tbilisi in 2019. Cherry Orchard’s Valbergs makes his international debut in Italy but the reigning Irish middleweight champ has shown leadership qualities during the recent training camp.
