Qualifiers at Bremore Softball World Cup

What a phenomenal week of softball at Bremore Castle, Balbriggan for the Women’s World Cup qualifiers, writes Rose Barrett! 

Fingal County Council stated the “excitement, the camaraderie, and the outstanding performances on the field made it an unforgettable experience!”


“A huge thank you to all the incredible teams, players, coaches, events staff, stewards, security, sponsors and support crews who poured their hearts and souls into the games,” stated a spokesperson for the council.

“You all made this event an absolute delight to watch.To the enthusiastic spectators who filled the stands in Balbriggan with energy and cheers, we couldn’t have asked for better fans! Your unwavering support for all the teams created an electrifying atmosphere that lifted the spirits of every player on the field!  A special congratulations to Team USA and Team Australia. for their exceptional performance, securing their place in the finals!”

Cllr Tony Murphy  (Ind for Balbriggan) said it was amazing to have the Women’s Softball World Cup launched at Bremore Castle last week. “Ireland took on the best teams in the world including World #1 USA, Great Britain, Australia, Botswana and Chinese Taipei. Nineteen games over 5 days – wonderful event!”

“This past week has truly been a celebration of sportsmanship, skill, and unity within the women’s softball community,” said Fingal County Council
