Blackrock College sealed their spot in the Energia Women’s AIL Top Four final following Saturday’s eight-try, 44-5 win at Old Belvedere which saw them secure qualification with a game to spare.

‘Rock wingers Maeve Liston and Maggie Boylan crossed in the first quarter to open up a 10-point lead at Ollie Campbell Park, Vic Dabanovich O’Mahony pulling one back for the home side on the stroke of half-time.

What had been a close game up until that point turned decidedly the way of the visitors in the second period as they ran amok, helping themselves to six unanswered tries.

Rock will be joined in the title decider by Railway Union who won on the road at UL Bohemian to guarantee their own appearance in the season finale.

In the Conference, Suttonians won at Ballincollig to remain four points ahead of Galwegians in second place with one round of fixtures to go.

Blackrock captain Michelle Claffey crosses for her second try of the game.
