LUCAN HARRIERS’ Mary Browne did the Irish Green vest proud as she came home second for the Ireland team at the British and Irish Cross country international in Santry last weekend.

A cross-country race with athletes representing their countries, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales, with her team finishing in the bronze medal position. Eileen O Brien was also on the squad for her category race.

The club also had Aoife Coffey as part of the UCD team which won bronze in the University Road relays in Maynooth on Friday.

Dylan representing UCD and Mati Wanic representing Trinity put in strong performances also. The annual Run in The Dark took place in the city this week, the 5 K was won by Lucan Harrier  Benjamin Caullier in a time of 16.18, a fantastic time by this  young man.

The club also had Tony Keaney competing in the 5 K in a very impressive time of 23.40

Meanwhile, regarding the club’s track development, there will be a very visual difference happening in the coming weeks.

A throwing cage will be erected which will allow the club to train for discus and hammer events.

It will also allow the club to hold throwing competitions during the Summer track and field season.
