If you’re looking for a bit of culture this weekend, the Dundrum One Act Drama Festival is returning to Dundrum Mill Theatre.
The festival offers an opportunity to see nine different one act plays produced by drama groups from around Ireland in one whirlwind weekend.
Each night will consist of three one act plays followed by an informative review by Festival Adjudicator, Geoff O’Keeffe.
The adjudicator takes the stage each night to give his review, allowing the audience a chance to get an insight into the analysis of the plays and learn more about the performances they have just watched.
Festival director, Fiona Walsh, said the festival is a great opportunity to see a variety of different one act plays from drama groups across the country.
“This year we have groups travelling from Wexford, Cavan, Wicklow , Kildare and Cork as well as some more local Dublin groups.
“I am expecting the standard of productions to be very high as all the groups will be competing for a place in the All Ireland One Act Finals.
“The festival also offers audiences the unique opportunity to hear the public adjudication from Geoff O’Keeffe and receive a insight into what he thought of the acting, directing and production values of each play.”
The festival takes place from 8 to 10 November, 8pm Friday/Saturday and 7pm Sunday.
Tickets, €15 standard and €12 concession, for each individual night are available from the dlr Mill Theatre in Dundrum by phoning the box office on +353 01 296 9340, or ordering online at http://www.milltheatre.ie/events/dundrum-one-act-festival/
