Active travel school zone project

The active travel school zone project aims to engage Dublin schools and communities to improve safety outside the school gate and support active travel modes on the journey to and from school, writes Rachel Cunningham.

This scheme is related to improvement works outside St. Mark’s J.N.S. and S.N.S., Springfield, Tallaght.

Other objectives of the project are to provide an accessible environment in the vicinity of the school, to create a more welcoming public realm in the vicinity of the school, to enhance biodiversity and to reduce CO2 emissions in in the vicinity of the school.

The project is supported by the National Transport Authority (NTA) and delivered by South Dublin County Council and is asking members of the public from the area to fill out a short questionnaire. This can be accessed here:
