Ruaille Buaille kicked off on June 1 with an exciting programme of music events stretching over 12 days this year, writes Rachel Cunningham.
The festival was booked out on its opening day for the schools and libraries programme of events, with over 2500 children attending a performance or workshop in their school or local library.
Festival events include workshops, festival commissions of new works for children, live performance, playground antics and music trails, culminating with ‘Ruaille Buaille in the Park’.
‘Ruaille Buaille in the Park’ will take place on Saturday, June 11, between 10.30 – 4.30 in a marquee in Griffeen Park. The free event will provide an extensive and varied programme of performances for all generations to enjoy.
Artscope will also return to Griffeen Park on June 10-12, presenting the very best of performances and opening the event with a work commissioned by composer Martin Tourish, in celebration of the return to live music, the return to the stage and the return of an audience.
