A public appeal has been made for help with repair work and to provide much needed equipment after a fire broke out at Ring Street community centre last Saturday.
Huge damage was caused to the interior of the new community centre which is based in Inchicore and the fire was later brought under control by Dublin Fire Brigade.
No injuries were reported.
Cllr. Daithí Doolan said that the damage to the new centre has dismayed residents.
“This is a big blow to the summer project which had only just started. This is funded and run by local residents.
“I have contacted Dublin City Council looking for support. We are making a public appeal if anyone can help with equipment, repair work, cleaning, donations please contact myself or the centre. Many thanks to everyone for your support,” he added.
