As restaurants across Dublin adapt to the new indoor safety regulations, one popular Howth restaurant sadly, was forced to close its door, writes Rose Barrett.
The Brass Monkey which is located at the West Pier in Howth has continued to serve lovers of sea food at its outdoor dining space in recent months. Alas, a fire ravaged the restaurant premises last week, necessitating four engines from Dublin Fire Brigade.
DFB quickly got the fire under control using a turntable ladder and were able to access the roof through neighbouring businesses.
Owners of the Brass Monkey restaurant posted on social media:“We are temporarily closed due to a recent fire on the premises. We apologise to all the reservations we have to cancel, due to this unforeseen closure.”
They noted gift vouchers are still available to purchase from the restaurant’s website.
“Gift vouchers will be honoured when we reopen. Thank you for your continued support – what a year!”
