The Jacksons are set to perform live in Ireland for the very first time and they’ve chosen Dun Laoghaire as their stage.
One of the greatest pop and Motown supergroups in the history of music will headline as part of this summer’s Beatyard Festival at Dun Laoghaire Harbour on August Bank Holiday Weekend.
Original members Tito, Jackie, Marlon and Jermaine will perform all of their mega hits live with an impressive 9-piece band.
The 90-minute show will be filled hits like Can You Feel It, Never Can Say Goodbye, ABC, I’ll Be There, Shake Your Body, Walk Right Now, Blame It On The Boogie and many, many more.
In the early 1970s, The Jackson 5, which once included Michael Jackson, shot to fame when their first four singles I Want You Back, ABC, The Love You Save and I’ll Be There peaked at Number 1 on the charts.
After countless tours, albums and chart successes, Michael Jackson left the group in the 1980s to pursue a solo career.
Over the years, the group clocked up five number one albums, 18 number one hits, 17 top 10 albums, and 17 top 40 singles.
The Jacksons will headline Friday, August 3 as part of the fourth edition of the family-friendly, multi-stage Beatyard Festival.
The three-day event will also host other performers including hip hop legends the Sugarhill Gang, US jazz sensation Kamasi Washington, English electronic dance music duo Orbital and Irish electronic duo I Am The Cosmos.
As well as musical treats, Beatyard Festival will also have over 100 food vendors to choose from, along with demos and food competitions.
There’ll be plenty on offer for the whole family with Kidsyard and Gamesyard, and the famous boat parties makes a comeback on the waves in the Boatyard.
Tickets went on sale on February 7 at Ticketmaster, The Beatyard and Eventbrite from €59.50 plus booking fee. It’s advised to book early to avoid disappointment.
