The Lord Mayor of Dublin, Tom Brabazon, has presented a bronze plaque to Tara St Fire Station to thank the members of Dublin Fire Brigade based there for their efforts during Covid-19 so far.

It is the first in a series of plaque presentations that the Lord Mayor will be making to fire stations throughout the Dublin City Council area.

“Members of Dublin Fire Brigade have been at the most forward part of the front line in the battle against this pandemic,” said the Lord Mayor. “I know there is still much work to be done, but the citizens of our great city are deeply appreciative of what Dublin Fire Brigade has done so far and will continue to do in the months ahead. The presentation of these plaques is just a small token of that appreciation. I hope they will serve as a reminder to everyone in Dublin Fire Brigade of just how proud the people of Dublin are of each one of them.”

Dublin Fire Brigade has welcomed the initiative.

“I would like to thank the Lord Mayor for his very kind gesture,” said Dennis Keeley, Chief Fire Officer with Dublin Fire Brigade. “It is most appreciated, as we continue to support the community in the fight against Covid-19”.

Over the course of the next few weeks the Lord Mayor will personally visit each fire station in the Dublin City Council area to present the members based there with a plaque.
