With Bon Jovi playing two massive shows at the RDS this weekend, organisers have issued a public information notice with everything you need to know.

Something of a home away from home for Bon Jovi in Ireland, they’ve previously sold out two consecutive nights at the RDS in June 2011, and played the southside venue 3 times before that.

Doors to the RDS will open at 5:30pm on both nights, with Manic Street Preachers taking to the stage at 6:15pm. Bon Jovi will then rock the RDS from 8:10pm onward in their first Irish gig in six years.

There is no queuing permitted before gates open, as the RDS is in a residential area.

There are still limited tickets available for the gig from Ticketmaster here.

SECURITY

There will be strict security checks at the gates, with gig-goers especially advised not to bring backpacks or large handbags as they may be refused entry or experience delays on entry.

Bon Jovi will take to the stage rain or shine on both nights, with those heading along are asked to check weather conditions to dress appropriately. No umbrellas will be allowed into the venue.

TRANSPORT

Organisers are encouraging anyone heading to see the ‘It’s My Life’ singer to use public transport, allowing up to two hours travel time to get to and from the RDS.

If travelling by Dublin Bus, you can get the 120, 18, 4, 7 or 7a bus. There are two stops close by – Pembroke Road opposite the US Embassy, or Merrion Road opposite the British Embassy. For more information on buses, visit http://www.dublinbus.ie/

You can also get the DART to the RDS from the city centre to Ballsbridge, with Landsdowne Station and Sandymount Station about a 5 minute walk from the RDS.

Anyone heading along can also book coach travel to Bon Jovi on both nights through the EvntzApp, available at www.evntz.app.
