Teen left with life changing injuries following Artane assault

An Garda Síochána are investigating a serious assault on an 18-year-old in Artane, which has left him with life changing injuries.

Gardai in Clontarf are investigating the incident, which occurred on Thorndale Walk in Artane on January 2. The injuries sustained by the teen are serious and life changing, but not life threatening.

It is believed that up to 20 youths from the locality carried out this attack on the teen, who then fled the scene, a laneway between Thornedale Estate and St David’s Sports Grounds.

The group are understood to have fled in the direction of the Rockfield Park area between 8pm and 9pm on January 2.

In a statement, Gardai said: “We appeal to anyone who was in the vicinity with any information about this attack, or persons who may have witnessed or heard any disturbances in this area to contact Gardaí.

“We wish to appeal to road-users with camera footage, or anyone who may have video footage of the incident from social media sources to come forward.”
