Relatives of the 1916 leaders this week met political party leaders at the gates of Leinster House and presented them with a preliminary copy of the long awaited Moore Street Master plan.
This blueprint been hailed as ‘the future plan for Dublin’ Commissioned by the Moore Street Preservation Trust and devised by leading architects Fuinneamh Workshop: Cork and Kelly and Cogan Dublin in consultation with 1916 relatives and campaigners, Moore Street will be re imagined for a changed retail landscape.
The Master plan presents a new beginning for what the National Museum of Ireland called “the most important historic site in modern Irish history.”
It addresses in an imaginative and realistic way the area’s economic, historic, cultural and social needs head on. The 1916 terrace will be restored and the ground floor shops let with over shop living facilitated.
