A search is under way for a 27-year-old Dublin man who was reported missing from a hiking trail in Wyoming.
Cian McLaughlin was last seen around 2.30pm on June 8, approximately 800 metres from the Lupine Meadows Trailhead in Grand Teton National Park.
The Department of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that it is aware of the case and “has been providing consular assistance to the family”.
Mr McLaughlin previously studied at Dublin Institute of Technology and works as a snowboard instructor at Jackson Hole in the Rocky Mountains. He was reported missing after failing to report for work on Thursday, June 10 and his vehicle was located at Lupine Meadows Trailhead in the park on Sunday.
Mr McLaughlin was last seen wearing a cut-off tank top and shorts, a wide brim hat, and round sunglasses without a backpack. More than 40 park staff are conducting ground search efforts with local search and rescue dog teams also involved in the search.
