New signs have been put up at Benmadigan Road in Drimnagh in an effort to protect the local bee population, writes Kim O’Leary.
Summer is a busy time for the bees as they are hard at work collecting nectar from the flowers on the green at Benmadigan Road.
To allow the endangered bees to do this safely, the residents of Benmadigan Road and Dublin City Council have recently erected signs around the area to keep the bees and people safe.
Cllr Daithi Doolan welcomed the new signs, saying: “Well done to the residents & City Council who made this possible. There are two of these on Benmadigan Green. Keep up the good work.”
