The Department of Health on Lower Baggot Street has been evacuated this lunchtime, after a suspicious package was discovered.
Videos displaying a heavy Garda presence at the premises have been circulating on social media, with the building evacuated shortly before 1pm this afternoon.
There are reports that a suspicious ‘white powder’ package was discovered at the building, leading to all staff being evacuated at the building at Miesian Plaza on Lower Baggot Street.

In a statement to Dublin Gazette, An Garda Siochana said that Gardai are present at the scene.
“Gardaí are currently at the scene of an incident on Baggot Street Lower. A suspicious parcel was discovered in the Department of Health,” a Garda spokesperson said.
“No further information is available at this time.”
Both sides of Baggot Street outside the building remain closed.
