A man is appearing in court this morning following the seizure of a gun and ammunition at a house in Clondalkin.
The man, who is in his 30’s, was arrested along with another man in his 20’s after an intelligence led operation by members of An Garda Síochána attached to the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) searched a house in the Clondalkin area on Friday.
A loaded firearm and ammunition was seized at the house and both men were detained pursuant to the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against The State Act 1939/98 at Clondalkin Garda Station.
A garda spokesperson said: “A man, aged in his 30s, has been charged in relation to this incident.
“He is due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice (court 3) this morning, 18/11/2019, at 10:30am.
“The other man, aged in his 20s, arrested as part of this investigation remains in custody.”
Speaking on Friday following the arrests, Assistant Commissioner John O’Driscoll of Special Crime Operations said:
“This is yet another successful intervention by the Garda Síochána in a potential threat to life incident, involving the seizure of a loaded firearm and the arrest of suspects”.
