During the summer, the Carrickhill Little Free Library was introduced at D13 R894 in Portmarnock. This quirky little facility was built and installed, with very positive feedback from neighbours and passers-by.
“We would like to thank everyone for reading and sharing with us and offering encouragement since we opened. Feel free to read a book/share a book/return a book. You don’t have to give a book to take one. They’re always free. Please share a book you really enjoyed and think others will like,” wrote the library founders on social media.
“We have books for all ages and from time to time, little treats for the kids. The books change often so if there isn’t anything for you, do stop by again.”
Part of a non-profit organisation (charter #126450) LittleFreeLibrary.org, the mission is to be a catalyst for building community, inspiring readers, and expanding book access for all through a global network of volunteer-led Little Free Libraries.
