Why Sonny’s a cut above

by Gazette Reporter

Two weeks ago, we carried a story highlighting  eight-year-old Rush native Sonny McElarney who  grew his hair long to raise money for cancer kids he knew.

Then last week when he hit the target set, and accompanied by his mother Emily, he  went to get his locks shorn by Alex in The Wave Barbers in Rush.

And above you see the new Sonny without the long locks which he has donated to the Little Princess Trust. This charity provides real hair wigs to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other conditions.
