Cabra teenager Ruby Moss has released her second song, ‘Shades of Grey’. Her first release ‘Ruby’s Song’ went straight to No 1 in the iTunes chart in late July.
‘Shades of Grey’ explores the urgent need to keep pressing/communicating the changes we all need to make to prevent the worst effects of the global climate crisis.
The lyrics within her second song show a level of maturity far above her years:
“You want things to stay the same
So I just have to say again
Come and see the shades of grey
I know you like things as they are
And change can seem so very hard
Until you see the shades of grey “
Young Ruby is a vegan, a choice she made herself when she was eight years, and believes in protecting and implementing animal rights. She attends Dundalk Grammar School where she won an organ scholarship, and also, Ruby also plays flute, piano, guitar and the button accordion.
Shades of Grey is the first in a series of three songs that deal with themes around climate change. Shades of Grey deals with the frustrating and difficult conversations trying to convey the need for change. Like her last song, all proceeds from Ruby’s Song Shades of Grey are in aid of JigsawYMH and GoVegan World
‘Shades of Grey’ will be launched on Wednesday, September 8 on iTunes and all digital musical platforms.
