Gardai seize over 30 dogs during search in Baldoyle

Gardai yesterday seized over 30 dogs in Baldoyle, during a planned search into illegal puppy farms and criminal activity.

In total, 32 dogs and four horses were seized during the search in the Baldoyle area of North Dublin.

The operation was carried out by the Divisional Crime Task Force DMR North in Santry, and was supported by uniformed Gardai, the local detective and animal rescue agencies.

Breeds of dog seized include pugs, Jack Russells and Chihuahuas. Six of the Chihuahua’s seized were found to be pregnant.

All of the animals are now in the care of the appropriate rescue agencies, with the potential value of the dogs recovered estimated to be in excess of €150k, according to An Garda Siochana.
