‘UNITED’, a collaborative photographic exhibition between Irish and Ukrainian photographers is currently on display at Blanchardstown Library.
The exhibition consists of powerful images of the war in Ukraine as well as poignant portraits of displaced Ukrainian families living and settling in Ireland. The purpose of the exhibition is to highlight the war in Ukraine and to encourage Irish families to host displaced Ukrainian families in their homes.

The team responsible for producing ‘UNITED’ is comprised of Co-founder and Designer Olha Lapteva, Co-founder and Irish photographer Sharon Burrell, Ukrainian photographer Ulyia Ger from Kyiv and Helen Smirnova.

At the launch of the exhibition, the Mayor of Fingal, Cllr. Howard Mahony commented: “I wish to commend the work of the ‘UNITED’ group in putting together this collaborative exhibition which is symbolic of the Irish and Ukraine people working together in a time of war to provide homes and a community for persons displaced by war. The photos demonstrate the kindness of Irish hosts, and the human connection that has developed between Irish host families and our Ukrainian guests”.

Fingal Libraries County Librarian, Betty Boardman added: “Fingal Libraries are committed to being an inclusive library service with respect and support given to all and we are delighted to display the ‘UNITED’ photographic exhibition at Blanchardstown Library. The exhibition will prove popular with our library users and indeed those that come to specifically view the exhibition.”

The “UNITED” photographic exhibition was on display during Fingal Inclusion Week and will remain on display at Blanchardstown Library up to Wednesday 30 November 2022.
