A group of young people who regularly attend Praxis Care’s Mulhuddart Day Service had a very special day out following an invitation from Uachtaráin na hEireann, Michael D Higgins to visit the Áras, writes Rose Barrett.
The young people had been included in the Irish President’s guest list for a garden party in celebration of Irish heritage last week.
The group of eight from the County Dublin service which provides enriching activities from Monday to Friday for people with intellectual disabilities and autism, enjoyed a meal and dancing at the event.
Hannah Doyle, pictured, was honoured to introduce herself to the President and adds: “I felt happy inside when I met his wife Sabrina”.
