Old world wines with new-age sustainability

Rathmines Road upper has become Dublin’s first location for the independent chain of wine shops, ‘The Wine Buff’

The newest store has taken residence in one of Rathmines’ many special locations; the old Deveney Family store that first housed a forage store as far back as 1909, and had been an off-licence since the late 70s.

Ken Kinsella, who also owns sustainable Source Bulk Foods in Rathmines, had the idea to bring the franchise to town during lockdown.

The wine-only store, which promises to host regular tastings, delivers exclusive wines from smaller winemakers around the world both in-store and online. It uses mostly small European producers and the wines, which are exclusive to The Wine Buff shopes in Ireland, are all sourced direct from the vineyards by the company.
