Tallaght University Hospital marked its 25th anniversary by celebrating its staff of over 3000, writes Rachel Cunningham.
One of the largest employers in the Tallaght area, the hospital seen much growth and development over the last 25 years, with over €75m invested in physical expansions.
“The last 25 years have presented us with some incredible challenges which have at times truly tested us but it is testament to the spirit and determination of our staff that we have risen to those challenges.
“As we look to the next 25 years I am confident that we will continue to build our presence in the Tallaght community and look forward to developing innovative ways of delivering healthcare to those within our physical hospital walls and those beyond,” said CEO Lucy Nugent.
The 2023 TUH Hero category award winners included Larry Untoy for the Patient Experience Award; Darren Doyle for the People Caring for People Award; Loreto Brady for the the Unsung Hero Award and Dr. Rama Soondron, for the Service Excellence Award.
Other winners were Claire Ralph for the Mentoring Award; Caitriona Whelan for the Teamwork Award, while the portering team was the winner of Team of the Year.
