Proudly supporting ALONE
This year’s festival proudly supports ALONE, the national charity that enables older people to age at home with dignity. Their befriending services, advocacy, and support play an essential role in improving the lives of older individuals. During the event, look out for their dedicated volunteers conducting bucket collections and accepting donations, as every contribution makes a significant difference in the lives of those they serve.
Several sustainable initiatives will take place in The Townhall at The Heritage Centre over the two days, highlighting our commitment to preserving the beauty of our environment.

For families, there is a dedicated Kidzone on Saturday, August 26, and Sunday, August 27, in the Church Grounds featuring magician Joe from RTE Junior, face-painting to transform your little ones into adorable lobsters, pirates, and mermaids!
In addition to lead sponsors Guinness and Tanqueray, Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council, EBS, Core Credit Union, and Rushes SuperValu Dalkey have all come on board to lend their support along with Dalkey Volunteers and local traders.
According to Festival Director Camillo Borza, owner of Benito’s restaurant, “Following the huge success of last year’s festival, we are thrilled to continue the tradition with the Dalkey Lobster Festival 2023. As generations of families reunite year after year, the festival becomes a cherished experience for the entire community and a fantastic opportunity to showcase all that Dalkey has to offer.”
Sean Moynihan, CEO of ALONE, says, “I am delighted and honoured to express our warmest appreciation to the organisers of the Dalkey Lobster Festival for choosing ALONE as this year’s charity partner. We are thrilled to be a part of this wonderful community event that embodies unity, celebration, and care for one another – values that resonate deeply with our mission.”
