Second man dies following shooting incident in Blanchardstown on Christmas Eve

A second man believed to be in his 40s has died following a shooting incident in Dublin 15 on December 24 last.

At approximately 8pm on Christmas Eve, Sunday 24, two gunmen entered a premises on Main Street in Blanchardstown
where a number of shots were fired. Tristan Sherry (26) has been named locally as the gunman, who was tackled and treated for wounds at the scene, but was later pronounced dead.

The second fatality resulting from the shooting incident in Blanchardstown has been named by RTÉ as 48-year-old Jason Hennessy Snr.

Both men are known to gardaí for their involvement in organised crime, stated the national broadcaster.

Michael Andrecut (22), with an address at Sheephill Avenue in Dublin, was charged with the murder. of Mr Sherry. Having appeared at a special sitting of the Criminal Court of Justice on Saturday morning last, he was then remanded into custody and is due to appear before Cloverhill District Court on Tuesday, February 2 next.

Two other men were arrested in connection with Mr Sherry’s murder; they are believed to be held att garda stations in West Dublin.

An Garda Síochána have now commenced a second murder investigation as part of their wider investigation into this incident, which is being conducted at an incident room in Blanchardstown Garda station led by a Senior Investigating Officer (SIO).

Garda Family Liaison Officer (FLO) continue to liaise with both families regarding this investigation and local Gardaí continue to receive assistance from the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation (GNBCI).

Gardaí continue to appeal for any witnesses to these incidents or for any persons with video footage to come forward.
