Dublin International Handball Club (DIHC) has announced the launch of junior handball sessions in Swords, Phibblestown and Corduff.

With the support of Fingal County Council, Irish Olympic Handball Association (IOHA), Sport Ireland, Fingal Sports Office and Corduff Sports Centre, these weekly sessions will provide an opportunity for children aged 7-16 to learn the basics of handball from experienced coaches.

Goran Seselj, President of Dublin International Handball Club said: “We are thrilled to finally be able to offer these junior sessions. It’s been a dream of ours for many years and now we can make it a reality.

“Our goal is to help develop young athletes and introduce them to the game of handball so that they can reach their full potential.”

“We are excited to be launching junior handball sessions in some of Dublin’s most vibrant communities”, said Tomas Martinonis, coach for the Dublin International Handball Team. “This initiative will give children in the area a chance to experience a sport that is growing rapidly in popularity around the world.”

The sessions will teach participants the fundamentals of hand ball including passing, shooting and dribbling. Participants will also learn teamwork and other important life skills while playing one of the world’s fastest-growing sports.

The junior sessions are free of charge and open to all children aged 7-16 regardless of their experience or ability level.
