South Dublin County Council has announced that it will show its support for the people of Ukraine by raising its national flag over County Hall, Tallaght, writes Amy Rohu.

Speaking as he raised the flag above County Hall, the Mayor of South Dublin County, Cllr Peter Kavanagh, said:

“We have all been shocked and saddened by the scenes coming out of Ukraine since the illegal attack by the Russian Federation began a fortnight ago. I am proud to say that many of the people of South Dublin County have already arranged collections of money and goods for the Ukrainian people.”

County Hall and the Civic Offices in Clondalkin will also be lit up to display the Ukrainian flag.
