Dead tree carving lauded at Portersgate

“Look into nature and then you will understand everything better!“ said Cllr Tania Doyle (Ind for Ongar). There is a wonderful inscription on a wooden carving at Portersgate recently unveiled, writes Rose Barrett.

“A massive thanks to Fingal Park’s Area Inspector for taking on my suggestion two years ago and for recognising the potential for this unique piece of infrastructure. This tree was a feature of the residential amenity in its day but sadly died and became unviable. However, what was once dead is now on display and regenerated for ever. The first of its kind outside of Millennium Park.

“Well done to all involved” said Cllr Doyle.
