Once again, it was the Tidy Towns groups who came to the rescue recently following huge crowds and a mountain of litter left on Fingal beaches during the recent sunny spell, writes Rose Barrett..
“After a devastating amount of litter discarded on our beaches and promenade after a sunny weekend, we struggled to keep up our spirits,” wrote Howth Tidy Towns on FB. “But we managed a lot of watering (thank you so much Terry Kelly from the harbour for organising the water).

“We painted over graffiti at Claremont Beach and we helped to clean up the totally disheartening mountain of rubbish. Come on Howth businesses – you can do better, especially businesses making a fortune and generating the most waste.
“Thanks to all the hard-pressed staff in Fingal County Council for their efforts too,” said Howth TTs. #keephowthclean #mondaymotivation #BagItBinIt #keephowthgreen #FingalCountyCouncil
